Jouw laatste Cognac aankoop?

Begin deze week kwam deze met de post mee: een oudere versie van Delamain Vesper (2004) volgens de verkoper. Er was geen doos bij, maar dat hoeft voor mij helemaal niet, want die fles is toch niet om door te verkopen. Ik ben wel heel benieuwd of deze anders smaakt dan de nieuwere versie die ik een jaar of 2 geleden aangeschaft heb. Die vond ik niet zo denderend.

Got lucky today. Came across a special bottle. The previous public releases of 43.8% abv were in 2009. Does anyone know if subsequent bottles were filled-to-order from the cask or the demijons? If this bottle came out of the cask this year, then it’s oldest 1972 from Ferrand. And perhaps the best?

Pablo Ferrand is a bit chaotic in my opinion, so we didn't get a clear picture of what he is up to these last years.
This 1972 is not neccesarily produced by his father because I think he also buys some cognacs now. But I have little doubt that this is a good cognac.

Thanks for the feedback gentleman. Maybe they held back a few barrels. Since from what I understand, the 1972 has great potentials. One can only hope.

I thought so too. I knew I can’t be that lucky, so I did some digging around today and found this: https://thistlespirits.com/products/pie ... ength-512/
Apparently, it’s not the first time they did bespoke bottling. That one was for ‘The Nectar’. The barrel number also 1/1 may be alluding to only one barrel was used for that particular exchange. Initially I thought I was lucky enough to get the one from their very first 1972 barrels. Silly me

PM Spirits Hommage a Yves & Jean-Noel Pelletan. Also 43.8% abv. This here is a blend of casks from 1925-1965. No additives, nothing artificial. Cask strength.

With it’s origin in Paul-Marie & Fils, this makes for a very tempting bottle in the cabinet.
