I've got it in the states. It's a good one, don't get me wrong, but some how it was a little too 'smooth' (if there is ever such a thing). It probably wasn't under the optimum conditions when I tasted it. Maybe it's at a time in the day that I drank it. Maybe I drank it too quick, or it could be that I haven't fully recovered from a stuffy nose earlier in the week. I might have spoken too soon. I will have to revisit that bottle in a few days.

The last 10 or more years I find many producers putting to much sugar in...

The Daniel Bouju Tres Vieux "Brut de Fut" is really sweet, and there isn't much alcohol burn, yet the flavor was robust, and the rancio very pronounced.

I haven't opened my bottle Brut de Fût yet but the Bouju Très Vieux 40 % is one of my favourites.

Nice Johan. I have that bottle also, but I did the opposite you did. I opened the Brut de Fût first. I am hoping the taste of the 40% abv bottle is just as delicious, less the alcohol. Do you think this bottle for a 40 year old is about right?

Yes, it's also 40yo. I double checked with Daniel Bouju himself November last year at a wine tasting in a local wine store. The invited him because they only sell his cognacs.
And so far, of all the cognacs that I've had at this moment, that's the only one that stayed powerful and tasty to the very last drop.
