Vandaag de Bertrand XO Petite Champagne. Mooi complex, diepte, notig, rancio, veel diepte en lange afdronk maar toch ook frisheid. Wauw, goede eerste indruk!

To me, the Memorial and the Exception is a toss up. They are both fantastic in their own ways. I was first hooked on to Audry through the Memorial, so I might be alittle biased there. The Aristide is a completely different style cognac. Mine was from a more current release too (i.e. 50 year vs. 60 years) . So far, I have not been able to find anything else to match the Memorial’s taste + value.

Gisteren mijn fles Rémy Martin XO Excellence geopend en voor de eerste keer geproefd.
Ik werd er niet bepaald door weggeblazen. Verdwijnt helemaal in het niets als ik de Marcel Ragnaud No 35 Fontvieille ernaast plaats (zeker op de finish die bijna onbestaande was bij de Rémy Martin).
Wellicht had ik de Rémy Martin eerst moeten openen en proeven. Alleszins geen toppertje en geen fles die ik opnieuw zou kopen, zelfs niet in promotie aan 99,50€.
Voor datzelfde geld zou ik nu toch een andere fles kiezen.
Een 6,5/10 voor de Rémy Martin XO Excellence. Not So Excellent

I am also a big fan of Audry, the Reserve Speciale is one of my all time favourite cognacs. Still can remember how crisp, balanced and fruity that one is. The Aristide is in my closet waiting for the right opportunity to get some air. The Memorial and Exception were already on my wish list, now even more...
