Bottled : 90's

I visit Audry in 2013 at Pessines.

if I remember correctly the owner (Bernard Boisson) passed away a few years ago.
His wife lives in Paris. Their house in Pessines was sold.

Their cognac was distilled and bottled at Vallein-Tercinier.

Addresses of Audry on bottles are Saintes, Pessines and Thenac. These are all very close to each other.
And that is Fins bois area, so it is not surprising that they also have made some Fins bois cognac in the past. Like this one (from Paul Ronne)

Thanks for the info Roland. Looks like we are bottle buddies now . How old do you think the cognac is? My seller claimed that it’s bottled in the 1940’s. Would you drink it now, or save it?

Thanks for the thorough explanation Ton. My bottle says that it was distilled by Armand Audry. Could you tell by that if it’s their ‘Exception’ grade or their ‘Aristide’ grade?

No, I cannot. But the name Aristide comes from Aristide Boisson, who married Odette Audry in 1905. So I think the name Aristide came about when Bernard Boisson restarted the company, in honor of his ancestor. So much later.
Here is another photo of the fins bois bottle. I really don't know when these where bottled or when this particular signature was used.

Distilled 1940's, bottled 1990's.

I agree with you. That label doesn’t look 80+ years old. Seller probably just mislabeled it.

Thanks Ton. I thought the Reserve Aristide pertains to their 50 year old bottles. But am really glad to find out more history behind this company. This label look identical to what I have.
