Bottled in 2023. 28 year old at 43% abv.
Brown sugar on the nose. Caramel. Stew fruit.
On the palate: stewed peach carries over. Vanilla. A few drops of water mellows it out a bit.
Finishes rather short. But a fantastic value though.

On the nose: less sharp than the 28 year old. More mellow. Caramel. Stew fruit.
On the palate: layered. Vanilla. More elegant.
Medium finish. Same fantastic value as the 28 year old.

Baron de Lustrac 40 Year Old Brut De Fût Bas Armagnac 46.4% abv.
On the nose: slow to reveal. Sherry on the fore.
On the palate: the extra abv has a bite. Does not have the thick rancio as other 40 year old cask strength has.
The finish is rather short.
Let’s set it aside to see if it improves with time.
They are still sticking to wooden corks. Nice.
