Cognac Calisinac XO

Can anyone tell me why one version of this XO sells for only $33 and the crystal bottle version sells for $416.50? It can’t be just the price of that crystal glass?

Unbelievable—what a rip-off. A Kastallen carafe from Kaspar costs €100 at most. And you can probably get one for much less.

Do you know if it is the same juice inside? Or they are actually different grades?

Even though the grades are the same, they are probably not the same cognac. Since “XO” simply means that the cognac has been aged for more than 10 years, this classification doesn’t mean much in this case.
You can ask yourself, why on earth they don't call it something else.

I thought about that too. They could have easily called it hors d’age or Extra even if it was just a few years older. Guess the only way to tell for sure is to drink both bottles. Now I just have to figure out how to get one of that $33 version.

Menard Ancestrale Reserve de Famille

Managed to dug up an old bottle of it that I have been looking for. It was a clear bottle. Only a little bit is left. It tastes different now than it was in my memory.

Comparing to my new bottle; a green bottle. It seemed the green one is perhaps older. The clear bottle was good, but I have a feeling that the green one would be even better.

My man Mikey is wonderfully resourceful. He always manages to come up with all kinds of interesting stuff. Can anyone confirm that it’s really Louis Xiii quality?

I think I might be missingsomething. Louis XIII quality? I can only see Camus tasting bottles, no Rémy Martin.

Some said it could be as good as Louis Xiii (being compared to it’s quality), not Louis Xiii per se.
