Yesterday I finished the 1965 of Jean Fillioux. I am inclined to copy your commentary on the XO, because this one too has a very pronounced rancio. It has 47°ABV wich gives it more power, but you don't get a nasty heat or alcohol-taste. Very smooth. Worth buying again.

Prunier Family Reserve
40% abv. 15-35 years old

It’s gotten mellow over time. Erased some of the bitterness, but along came the caramel showing through. At it’s price point, still a good buy though.

Yes, these bottles tend to empty quickly. Never had an Audry that disappointed. The Aristide is my personal favorite.

Love that Aristide. Unfortunately I never get to taste the quality you did. My bottle is 50% abv. And I was told it’s now a 50 year old, compared to your 60. Do you think I can experience the same level of quality with my Delamain Reserve de la Famille? I am compelled to open it at the next special celebration; however, with the way things are all around, it’s hard to find an occasion.

I really wouldn't know Fuzhou.Haven't tasted the Delamain Réserve de la Famille yet.

Gisteren heb ik twee cognacs vergeleken die ik recent open heb gemaakt: de Tres Rare van Paul Giraud en de Vieille Reserve van Paul Beau. Beide erg goed. De Paul Beau is veel delicater, de Paul Giraud heeft duidelijke rancio. Nu zou je denken dat de Paul Beau daar tegen weg zou vallen, maar niets is minder waar. De Paul Beau blijft fier overeind en wint wat mij betreft. Maar smaken zijn persoonlijk en ik denk dat menigeen de wat stoerdere smaak van de Très Rare meer zou waarderen.

Ik heb de Vieille Réserve van Paul Beau niet zo in mijn geheugen, wel de Hors d'Age.

heeft ook nog geen proefnotitie, de Vieille Réserve zag ik. Zo te lezen is-ie dat wel waard, Ton?
